Climbing Mount Lassen

After the yard sale and Caleb's soccer game yesterday (we lost, sniff...) Carl decided to take Caleb and drive a short 4 1/2 hours away to climb to the top of Mount Lassen. It is the largest volcanic dome and the only other volcano besides Mt. St. Helen's to erupt during the 2oth century along the Cascades. After they had left on their adventure I found out that it could become active at any time, in fact the hot pots around it are continually getting hotter. (global warming or something more diabolical? You decide.) So they actually went up on the first stormy weekend we have had and ran into some snowy weather. Caleb was tough though and they had a great time. They didn't quite make it to the top because of the storm, but they had fun camping and hiking around.
