FINALLY!!!!!!

Ashlee had been anxious to lose a tooth because EVERYONE in her class has already lost one, so tonight I talked her into letting me pull her loose tooth. She is pretty excited for school tomorrow to show it off and really excited for the tooth fairy tonight.

DERBY TIME.........

I was in charge of our pinewood derby last night for scouts. We have a planning meeting every september where the parents sign up to be in charge of a pack meeting. Well, no one would sign up for the derby so since I am also the cub committee chairman and Primary president the honor of doing it fell to me. It was crazy getting everything together, I was running all over the place looking for the ribbons to hand out yesterday with no luck. Thanks to my good friend Misty for going to Party America and getting them for me, you saved my life. Chris Youngberg from the 7th ward was the other race official and he showed up with these awesome shirts for us to wear. The boys had fun, Caleb came in second in his heat and Carl helped everybody that had car trouble. So yeah!!! it's over, but did I mention that I am also in charge of the Blue and Gold dinner next month too!!!! more on that later...........

Carl made the first 6 cars on the bottom row.

RACE TIME!!!!

Thumbs up from the officials!!!!

lunch bunch

Monday we went to D'Boni's for lunch bunch with the ladies in the ward. It was a lot of fun and the kiddos (sydney, dylen, brooklyn, max and nikell) all had fun running around and riding the little rides there. Max was pretty cute and figured out how to ask nice for a quarter to ride the "nay nay" I struggle in my pursuit of getting some good pictures ( i am no sister ballard, that's for sure) but here are a few from our little outing.......

Basketball Season..........

Basketball season has started and last Saturday was Caleb's first game. Sadly they lost but he had a good time. I didn't get any pictures of this Saturday's game but Caleb rocked the court. He scored the most points on his team (8 points) and had several rebounds and assists. We think he was showing off because Nan is here and he wanted to look good. But we'll take it no matter what his reason was. Sadly again we lost because of the lamest rule I have ever heard of. After 5 team fouls they give the opposing team a point for every additional foul. SERIOUSLY!!!! Does Kobe get a point when ever someone fouls? really people, let's just teach these boys basketball. So we won in baskets but lost because of fouls. AHHHHHH!!!! Someone should really warn a highly competitive mom about LAME made up rules!!!

That's Caleb in the back, kind of in focus.

AWESOME #5

The kids school had a fund raiser selling Stockton Thunder tickets. We decided to support the cause and went to the hockey game last Saturday. We were a little late getting there, but that turned out to be a good thing. Who knew that 1) you CAN"T stand up at all when the puck is in play. 2) a 4 year old that can barely sit through a princess movie that she loves, would HATE the hockey game she was so excited for all day and 3) a stinkin bag of cottom candy costs $5.Caleb and Ashlee had fun though so 2 out of 3 isn't that bad.

Just getting to the game......still excited.

Classic face.

Still a happy girl. what a sweet face.

Ashlee got to sit by her friend Katie.

Starting to get a little sad, she really wanted a drink.
We can't stand up to get her one.

It was "bring a teddy bear to toss" night. The bears go to the children's hospital.

We just come to see the fights.

What an awesome looking group.

A shout out to Carl........

I haven't posted anything for awhile because I broke the computer. FYI if your stinkin computer promts you to backup and restore, DON'T DO IT!!!!! Just walk away. I hit OK and it pretty much messed up the computer for a few days. Luckily my clever and cool hubby was able to fix most things on it and he didn't even yell at me.......Thanks Carl.

Snowboarding

Carl and Caleb went to Bear Valley on Friday to snowboard. The weather was awesome and they had a lot of fun..... the snow probably could have been better though. Snowboarding on Utah snow vs. California snow is a big difference. We have such a cool kid!!

jammin.....

It is not a big secret that my culinary skills are some what lacking. Anytime we try something new in the Hansen kitchen it usually means my hubby is involved. He is actually a pretty fantastic cook and loves to try new things. ( no comment on the deep fried cauliflower) you can't win every time.....But his latest experiment was to make persimmon jam, I know, I didn't know what they were either. But someone in the ward apparently grows them and really likes us so he gave us a bunch. The persimmon pudding Carl tried last week wasn't his biggest success either so he decided to bottle them as jam. I haven't tried it yet, but with 6 cups of sugar it can't be that bad. I'll keep you posted on whether you can expect a delicious little jar of jam for your next gift from us or not........

seriously....

this white background is getting a little old. I want one from "the cutest blog on the block" since the last time I used Leelou I deleted a bunch of my gadgets. Misty or Tam if you can help to remedy this problem with my spastic inability to blog by myself please feel free. On a happier note, I ran 9 miles this morning for the first time. I didn't fall over dead, however I am pretty sure I'm going to feel it tomorrow. YEAH!!! Only 3 months till Headlands.

Dancing Queens

Last night the girls put on their dress up dancing clothes, got the Zoes's dance moves with paula abdul and danced their hearts out. Caleb was at basketball practice so they had all the attention. Here a couple of pics, i filmed most of it with the video camera. They were pretty stinkin cute. Nothing makes me happier than my kids actually getting along......

Kim's Birthday Dinner.........

We finally got to go out for Kim's birthday dinner. It was me, kim, misty, tami and christina. We went to B.j's ( our fave b-day spot). The food was yummy and the dessert was even better. We walked around the mall after enjoying some kid-free time. Happy Birthday again friend.

construction zone.....

so I am pretty sure that I have mentioned before how handy Carl is to have around the house. Sometimes I love that he can fix or build anything. He loves a good project. His latest one is to frame in french doors in the loft. I wish I had a before picture, but these in the process pics will have to do. The finished product will come later now that his christmas vacation is over.

He gets lots of help.........sometime wanted, sometimes not so much.

sledding in yosemite

We drove up to Yosemite on New Years day to go sledding. We had gray skies and it was freezing here at home. I told carl that I didn't think that we would drive out of it, but as soon as we got to the top of Old Priest grade (a narrow, steep shortcut to Yosemite) it was sunny and beautiful. It was warmer up there than here in the valley. We had a lot of fun and ate a picnic in the snow and had yummy hot chocolate. I love that we can drive to snow but not have to live in it. Carl has always wanted to take the boat out on New Years and wakeboard one day and drive an hour up the mountain and snowboard the next day. ( He can get in the freezing cold water all by himself)

Making a snowman

Sledding with mommy.

Hot chocolate face!!!

Carl was super smart and brought the camp stove for some yummy hot chocolate.

This picture is for our friend Misty because she told Sydney to make a "snow angel" for her. Syd didn't even notice or care that she was on ice and not making that great of an impression. She stood up and said the angel was for Misty.

"QUEEN" of the hill!!!

She can be such a poser.

Caleb made this snow fort to hide behind when dad was pelting him with snowballs.
