Move over Kenny G

Last night was Caleb's first Band concert. He decided to play the Saxophone this year and started about 10 weeks ago. We were lucky because Uncle Ian had a pretty fancy sax for Caleb to borrow. He is the coolest in the band with his silver sax. Thanks Uncle Ian. There are 4 different elementary schools in the area that share the same band teacher. He just goes from school to school each day working with the kids. Last night was the first time all 4 schools played together. It was interesting to say the least. The girls were a little crazy and thankfully our friend they call papa from down the street was there for them to bug. I am proud of Caleb for trying an instrument, my own attempt at band was pretty sad. Apparently being tone deaf is actually an issue when trying to play an instrument. Who knew?

These are pretty dark, but you get idea.

End of Soccer Season

Saturday was Caleb's last soccer game. He had an awesome season. He was the Team captain and they ended with a pretty good record. He has decided he LOVES soccer and wants to go to a soccer camp next summer.

Trick or Treating.........

After we carved pumpkins it was time to Trick or Treat. We only went to one side of our street so we could go show Grammy and Papa the kids costumes. We went over to our friend Kayo's house for dinner and a little more trick or treating. Caleb went with his friend Brandon and since they live in gated community we let the boys go by themselves. They were feeling pretty awesome not having mom or dad waiting at the end of the sidewalk for them. Kayo gets more trick or treaters than I have ever seen and the girls just wanted to stay there and hand out candy so they could see all of the fun costumes. I have to say that there were WAY too many adults with candy bags though. We told a few people that they were too old to be out begging for candy. Carl also took a plate of bread to the door when a bunch of teenagers were there and told them all we had left was bread. They didn't want it. Halloween was fun but I am glad it is over so I can look forward to Thanksgiving in Utah.

Carving Pumpkins

So I have to admit that carving pumpkins is NOT my favorite thing to do, but the kids love it so it makes it ok. Ashlee and Sydney love to clean the pumpkin guts out, Caleb doesn't, so Nanny helped him clean his pumpkin out. We used the pumpkin carving kit that has patterns in it and Caleb carved a skull and crossbones, Ashlee (with some help from me) carved a cat into hers. Sydney's pumpkin was a little small so we just carved a happy face in it. Overall a fun time, and the mess didn't bug me too bad

Say NO to Drugs..........

This week was Red Ribbon Week at the kids school and today was "wear as much red as possible" day. Their principal challenged the kids to try and wear more red than him and Caleb came in second out of the whole school. Needless to say, my competitive kid was pretty pleased with himself.

School Pictures

Ashlee Skye 1st Grade.

Caleb Vance 5th Grade
Caleb and Ashlee got their school pictures back today. They both turned out really good. Sydney will get hers from pre-school next week. I can't believe and grown up and cute they are. I love you guys.

Trunk or Treat

We had our Ward Trunk or Treat last night. The kids had soooo much fun. Our activities committee is awesome and they had carnival type booths set up for the kids to win prizes and candy, and there was also a chili cook off. Carl entered a white bean chili but sadly we didn't win. The competition was pretty tough. Ashlee is a fairy princess, Sydney is Snow White. She was upset because she said she has yellow hair and she needs black hair to be Snow White, but she forgot about it once we were there. Caleb was an army guy and he wanted to be called "Army Dude". Carl had a costume change and you can tell what he was by the pictures. Even the flying Nanny dressed up as the Nanny Fairy. It was pouring rain last night so instead of Trunk or Treating, they went from classroom to classroom. People decorated the rooms like they would their trunks and it was actually pretty awesome because it wasn't cold and the lights were on. Tonight we are going out again, but not very long because the kids got plenty of candy last night.

This is the Nanny fairy and our cute friends Pebbles and Bam Bam (aka:Dylen and Max)

Cute little Brooklyn and Syd, Cool guy Carl.

Brando and Caleb and Sydney "cheating" at the donut game.

Ashlee must have played this game at least 4 times, lets just say sugar high. And my sweet girls.
